Micaiah and I are loving this weather! Today, we swung in the hammock in our back yard together for the first time, we've gone walking with friends at River Front Park, and we walked up to our local vet's office today because Abe had an ear infection. I joked with a friend of mine that has twins, that I have twins, too...one is just furrier than the other one. I mean, seriously, the two of them get more ear infections!
Last week I decided to try out a new schedule/routine for us and I started implementing it. I think it was the best thing that I have done for my sanity! We have basically moved to 2 main naps, and one catnap with an early bedtime, with about 4 - 5 nursings per day (at 5 months), and we do solids 3 x per day now. Can I just stop a moment and tell you how WONDERFUL this really is? I guess you need to be a mom to appreciate this, but it really makes life SO. much. easier. You feel like you actually have time to get out and enjoy life again (inbetween naps). He has gone from sleeping literally what seems like ALL day to having time for short excursions. I don't feel like I have to rush quite as much before my baby just loses it! So, we have enjoyed the zoo, parks, going for walks, going to the grocery store, going to Target, so much that I finally had to declare a "stay-in" day at our house, because our house was beginning to look terrible. Okay. It was terrible, to say the least!
Plus, Micaiah is really becoming so much fun! Today, I noticed that he could understand that I was being silly. And he would laugh in response. One of those deep belly laughs that warms up your heart. I tickled him and he loved it.
I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to stay home and capture all these memories in my heart. I don't know what I would do if someone else was getting to experience all these joys. It has taken some getting used to (staying at home). And, it is certainly a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, but it is, by far, the best decision that I/we have ever made. :)
