Getting OUT of DEBT!!

Tonight I wrote two checks that will put a good chink into the debt snowball that plagues us! It was truly exciting to think, "Wow, Lord Jesus, YOU are the one that has given us the ability to pay these off! Please honor our efforts, Lord and allow us to trust in YOU alone!"

When God woke me up to get to paying off debts, Hart and I were just married. I remember reading Dave Ramsey's book and shaking my half sleeping husband awake. "Hart, Hart! We HAVE to do this. It is written right here in scripture." Through his book God revealed to us in HIS Book Proverbs 6.

"My Son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, have given your pledge for a stranger, if you are snared in the words of your mouth, caught in the words of your mouth, then DO THIS, my son, to SAVE yourself, for you have come into the hand of your neighbor; GO, HASTEN, and plead urgently with your neighbor. Give you eyes no sleep and your eyelids no slumber, save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the hand of the fowler."

It goes on, but this really captivated us and showed us that we need to get out of debt FOREVER!

Tonight I wrote the check to finish paying off our car maintance for my car when it cost out the wazooo to fix it. The second check I wrote was for a "smaller" (huge to us) home loan that really isn't due for like another year or so, but who wants to be ensared if you do not need to be?

All we will have left is the $7500 government loan that we got back automatically for buying a house last year and, of course, our home mortgage.

I was praying tonight and I really got motivated to pay these other two things off because I know Christmas is coming and if it didn't happen this month, then it would be January before it would happen.

My heart feels so happy and the whole time I was washing dishes tonight, I was praising God for how he has blessed us so abundantly beyond all we can every think or imagine!
